Introducing LAB™SPEAR eye spears. LAB™SPEAR is created with PVA sponge and is intended for use in eye care settings.

LAB™SPEAR eye spears are composed of a polyvinyl acetal (PVA) sponge attached to a high-density plastic handle. The sponge is soft and highly absorbent to effectively clean the surgical field while remaining comfortable for the patient. In addition, it can be cut and shaped according to your clinical needs without leaving behind any debris.

LAB™SPEAR eye spears can quickly absorb high volumes of liquid, fully expanding in less than 10 seconds.

HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH

Research demonstrates that when cutting cellulose sponge eye spears there is a greater chance of micro fragments being left behind.¹ LAB™SPEAR eye spears are manufactured from PVA and can be cut into different shapes without breaking apart or the shedding of fibres thus, reducing the risk of infection.¹

SMOOTH AND GENTLE FLUID REMOVAL

The PVA sponge used in LAB™SPEAR eye spears are extremely soft to the touch which allows for gentle manipulation of delicate tissues such as the ocular surface.
