Being part of the Labtician team means giving back to our communities. In this case a team from Labtician competed in the Hero Truck Pull in support of Second Harvest, Canada’s largest charitable food rescue organization. Second Harvest works with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to reduce the amount of edible food going to waste. This model helps redirect surplus food to thousands of charities and non-profits across Canada. And the Labtician team helped raise funds to support this important work.
A History of Innovation
In 1959 Labtician Ophthalmic Inc was credited with the development of the first solid silicone retinal implant by Dr. Louis Girard (Houston, Texas, U.S.A). Labtician is now the world leader in the manufacturing of solid silicone and closed cell sponge retinal implants in cooperation with our partners in over 80 countries. Labtician has evolved to manufacture other high-quality ophthalmic and oculoplastic product lines, but the company has also become a leading catalyst for the introduction and distribution of new technologies in eye care. We act as facilitator for companies that wish to bring new technologies to the Canadian market and help them to achieve global distribution as well. It is a unique model that is based on our mission to provides the eye care industry with proven visual health solutions that meet the current and future demands of the industry.
