Labtician Ophthalmics

Densiron 68

Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc., brings Canadian vitreoretinal surgeons a complete range of tamponades for use in their surgical procedures, including Densiron®68 by Fluoron®. It is a mixture of two CE-certified liquid implants: Ultrapure Silicone Oil (5000 centipoise [cP]) and ultrapure perfluorohexyloctane (F6H8®).

Densiron®68 heavy silicone oil is a "heavier than water" endotamponade that provides surgeons with exceptional attributes for inferior retinal tears and detachments.

Features include:

  • Specific density of 1.06 g/cm3 (aqueous is at 1.00 g/cm3), designed to settle inferiorly thus providing a tamponade to the inferior retina when used for inferior retinal tears and breaks
  • Most effective formula for use as a longer-term tamponade (from 3-5 weeks to a maximum 3 months)
  • The blend of Silicone Oil 5000cP and F6H8® creates a “flatter bottom” bubble when injected into the eye to cover more surface area
Densiron®68 is packaged in a 10 mL syringe. Labtician also provides Densiron®68 in a kit which includes the LSO QuickSet™ for easy injection.

The Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc., LSO QuickSet™ provides the retinal surgeon with benefits when using the Densiron®68 tamponade, including:

  • Fast, easy, and clean injecting
  • See-through holder reduces risk of accidental glass syringe breakage
As the Densiron®68 descends to the bottom of the eye, its removal requires the use of a longer extraction cannula. The surgeon’s selected cannula can conveniently be used together with the Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc., LSO Extraction™ Kit to provide the surgeon with the essential tool for quick, simple, and clean liquid extraction:

  • Disposable, eliminating the need for messy clean up
  • Can be connected to most automated VFI machines, either directly or with an adaptor
  • Can be ordered with the LSO QuickSet™ to eliminate the need for multiple, separate orders
