Labtician is pleased to commercialize the TearLab® Osmolarity System for the Canadian Ophthalmic Market

What: We are pleased to announce that TearLab Corporation has signed an exclusive agreement with Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc. to commercialize the TearLab® Osmolarity System for the Canadian market.

Why: The addition of the point-of-care TearLab® Diagnostic Test will complement Labtician’s existing device and therapeutic portfolio, as well as Kyklos Ocular Health Management Program, a turn key solution for Dry Eye Patient management

Labtician is pleased to announce the launch of Kyklos, an ocular health management program.

What: Kyklos is a customizable ocular health management program that offers Eye Care Practitioners a turn-key solution for Dry Eye Management.

Why: The importance of Dry Eye Management has been discussed in publications such as the 2007 Report of the International Dry Eye WorkShop (DEWS) and the Canadian Journal of Optometry`s National Dry Eye Disease Guidelines for Canadian Optometrists. Kyklos combines all of the elements of success for Dry Eye Management with screening, diagnosis, treatment and patient compliance and persistency all incorporated into one specialized program.

Labtician is excited to introduce KAMRA Vision to the Canadian Ophthalmic Market

Product Name: KAMRA Vision™

Device Description: An intra-corneal inlay for treatment of presbyopia.

Indications for Use: To improve functional near vision and reduce dependency on reading glasses.

Mechanism of Action: The opening in the centre of the inlay restores near and intermediate vision by focusing light coming into the eye.

Targeted Disease State: Presbyopia

Targeted Launch Date: Jan-15

Manufacturing Company: AcuFocus, Inc.

Additional Comments: The KAMRA inlay is an intra-corneal inlay designed to create a small aperture effect, allowing the eye to see near and intermediate objects more clearly while maintaining distance vision. By applying the depth-of-focus principle commonly used in photography, the KAMRA inlay controls light transmission, allowing only central rays to reach the retina through a fixed 1.6mm aperture.

Product Name: InflammaDry® & AdenoPlus®

Device Description: InflammaDry & AdenoPlus® are disposable, in-office tests that empower doctors to diagnose with confidence and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Indications for Use: InflammaDry confirms inflammation of the ocular surface to aid in the diagnosis of dry eye. AdenoPlus detects all known serotypes of Adenovirus to identify the viral form of conjunctivitis.

Mechanism of Action: Both InflammaDry and AdenoPlus are rapid, immunoassay tests that employ direct sampling microfiltration technology.
